Evacuation Precedence Reference

Use the highest applicable precedence for any patient

Code Category Timeframe Criteria
AUrgentWithin 2 hrsLife, limb, or eyesight threatened. Will die or suffer permanent disability without immediate care.
BUrgent SurgicalWithin 2 hrsSurgical intervention required to save life. Cannot be stabilised by available resources.
CPriorityWithin 4 hrsCondition will deteriorate to urgent if not evacuated promptly. Significant but not immediately life-threatening.
DRoutineWithin 24 hrsCondition will not deteriorate significantly. Can be treated and returned to duty or evacuated when resources allow.
EConvenienceNo urgencyEvacuation not medically necessary. For administrative purposes only.
