Evacuation Precedence Reference

Use the highest applicable precedence for any patient

Code	Category	Timeframe	Criteria
A	Urgent	Within 2 hrs	Life, limb, or eyesight threatened. Will die or suffer permanent disability without immediate care.
B	Urgent Surgical	Within 2 hrs	Surgical intervention required to save life. Cannot be stabilised by available resources.
C	Priority	Within 4 hrs	Condition will deteriorate to urgent if not evacuated promptly. Significant but not immediately life-threatening.
D	Routine	Within 24 hrs	Condition will not deteriorate significantly. Can be treated and returned to duty or evacuated when resources allow.
E	Convenience	No urgency	Evacuation not medically necessary. For administrative purposes only.
