Use the highest applicable precedence for any patient
| Code | Category | Timeframe | Criteria |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Urgent | Within 2 hrs | Life, limb, or eyesight threatened. Will die or suffer permanent disability without immediate care. |
| B | Urgent Surgical | Within 2 hrs | Surgical intervention required to save life. Cannot be stabilised by available resources. |
| C | Priority | Within 4 hrs | Condition will deteriorate to urgent if not evacuated promptly. Significant but not immediately life-threatening. |
| D | Routine | Within 24 hrs | Condition will not deteriorate significantly. Can be treated and returned to duty or evacuated when resources allow. |
| E | Convenience | No urgency | Evacuation not medically necessary. For administrative purposes only. |
